Senior Hezbollah Commander Killed in Israeli Airstrikes in Southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it eliminated Abu Hassan Alaa, a senior commander in Hezbollah's Badr Unit, during overnight airstrikes in the Deir ez-Zahrania area of southern Lebanon. According to the IDF spokesperson, Alaa was involved in advancing numerous attacks against Israeli forces, including the deployment of explosive drones in the Security Zone. The strike was conducted in retaliation for an earlier incident in which an officer and two soldiers were wounded by a Hezbollah drone. In addition to the airstrikes, the IDF reported heavy artillery fire targeting Hezbollah positions in the Ali Taher Ridge area. The military stated that the elimination of Alaa, following the earlier death of Radwan Force battalion commander Ali Samir Al-Haj Hassan, significantly degrades the operational management of Hezbollah's units. The IDF reiterated its commitment to removing threats against Israeli civilians and military personnel.
