Human rights activist: Iran prefers conflict with US over peace to suppress internal uprising

He suggests that the regime relies on continued low-level conflict with the United States and its Gulf neighbors to distract the public from economic collapse and internal suppression. Sadeghpour noted that despite U.S. guarantees regarding regime change, Tehran has continued to attack ships and military bases, indicating that the regime's survival depends on maintaining such friction. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump stated he is not focused on bringing Tehran to the bargaining table, questioning on Truth Social when the Iranian people will rise up. Vice President JD Vance also commented on Iran's activities in the Strait of Hormuz, asserting that Tehran's capabilities are diminishing and its control over the strait is becoming a declining asset.
