US fighter jets damaged in Iranian missile attack on Jordan

According to a CBS report, several US Air Force fighter jets were damaged during an Iranian missile attack on the Al-Safa Salti airbase in Jordan on Tuesday night. The report states that approximately eight F-15 fighter jets sustained minor damage and have since returned to service. Additionally, an A-10 Thunderbolt was struck and lost one of its wings. Jordanian officials reported that Iran launched 20 ballistic missiles toward the kingdom, 18 of which were intercepted. US forces stationed in Jordan fired more than 30 Patriot interceptor missiles to defend against the attack. The Iranian strike was reportedly in response to a US operation against five Iranian tankers, which followed an earlier attack by Tehran targeting a US Navy warship.
