Haredi soldiers to be integrated into intelligence roles in Brigade 146

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is expanding the integration of Haredi recruits into key positions within its Intelligence Directorate. For the first time, soldiers recruited through the Maalot Tzur association have begun serving as intelligence researchers in the 146th Division under a program titled 'Reshit Chochma' (First Wisdom). These soldiers are tasked with processing and analyzing information, developing intelligence pictures, and producing assessments to support operational decision-making. The roles require high learning capabilities, responsibility, and discretion. Alongside their service, the recruits will pursue college studies to acquire professional skills for the civilian workforce. A dedicated facility adapted to their lifestyle has been established for the soldiers. Brigadier General Beni Aharon, commander of the 146th Division, stated that the initiative reflects a commitment to national unity following the events of October 7, noting that the Haredi approach to deep study and attention to detail provides significant value to intelligence operations.
