Trump names Stephen Miller as White House chief of staff as Susie Wiles moves into political role

According to The National, US President Donald Trump announced on Friday that Stephen Miller, one of his closest advisers, will replace Susie Wiles as White House chief of staff. By promoting Mr Miller, the central architect of the administration's hardline immigration agenda, Mr Trump appears unwilling to moderate his policies despite the Republicans losing in a landslide to the Democrats in Tuesday's midterm elections. Mr Trump said in a post on Truth Social that Ms Wiles would move to the Trump Political Operation. The change will take effect on Monday.
