Man accused of terrorizing people while wearing Chucky-style mask in Philadelphia arrested in Las Vegas

U.S. authorities announced that Zymire Hughes, 22, accused of terrorizing several people near Philadelphia City Hall in August while wearing a Chucky-style mask, has been arrested in Las Vegas. He is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center awaiting extradition to Philadelphia. According to police, on August 12, Hughes spent roughly 15 minutes chasing and threatening at least six people in Center City. In one instance, he allegedly approached a female jogger and asked, "Are you ready to die?" causing her to flee and injure her leg. Robert Clark, a Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal, stated that while Hughes attempted to hide his identity behind the mask, he could not evade investigators. Police reported that Hughes fled Philadelphia on August 19, traveling through Trenton-Mercer Airport to Orlando before reaching Las Vegas. He faces charges including aggravated assault and terroristic threats.
