Ukraine launches massive drone attack on Russia, leaving at least six dead

Ukraine launched hundreds of drones across Russia on Sunday in one of the largest aerial attacks since the start of the full-scale invasion. Russia's Ministry of Defense claimed to have destroyed 822 Ukrainian drones overnight. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated that approximately 600 drones were detected heading toward the capital, with some destroyed over the Moscow region. An 83-year-old man was killed in the Moscow region, and a warehouse belonging to the retail giant Wildberries in Podolsk caught fire. In the Rostov region, an attack involving over 150 drones killed five people and damaged homes and a railway station. Ukraine has intensified its strikes on Russian military and energy infrastructure this year using long-range missiles and drone swarms. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported Russian missile and drone strikes on Kryvyi Rih, Sumy, and Kyiv, which resulted in civilian casualties and injuries.
