Suspicious death of prominent Turkish actor Serhat Kılıç

Serhat Mustafa Kılıç, the 51-year-old Turkish actor, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at his home in the Kağıthane district of Istanbul. According to Turkish media reports, friends of the actor, unable to reach him for one to two days, entered his home in the Nurtepe neighborhood using a spare key and discovered his body in the living room. Emergency services confirmed his death upon arrival. Preliminary examinations revealed bruising on various parts of his body, though no open wounds or injuries were found. Turkish authorities have officially opened an investigation, classifying the case as a "suspicious death" while awaiting the final forensic report. Reports also indicate that investigators found narcotics at the scene, though officials noted this does not necessarily confirm the cause of death. Kılıç, known for his roles in popular series such as "Teşkilat" (The Agency), "Kuruluş Osman" (Establishment Osman), and "Söz" (The Oath), had recently withdrawn from the seventh season of "Teşkilat" due to a cervical disc herniation. Beyond television, he was recognized for his role in the Palme d'Or-winning film "Winter Sleep." Colleagues, including actor Tolga Sarıtaş, expressed their condolences on social media, mourning the sudden loss of the artist.
