Iranian Photojournalist Yalda Moaiery Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison

Yalda Moaiery, a photojournalist who has documented social developments and events in Iran for over two decades, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. According to reports, she was convicted on charges of "acting against national security in the interests of the Zionist regime." Moaiery, whose work has been widely featured in international media, has issued a plea to the international community not to forget her. In previous interviews, she spoke about the intensification of state repression and emphasized her refusal to work within the framework of government propaganda. Despite persistent security threats and pressure, Moaiery stated before her final detention that she had no regrets and would continue to document conditions. She had described the current situation in Iran as the most severe version of the Islamic Republic she had ever witnessed.
