Three Hamas members killed in Israeli drone strike in Jenin

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the Shin Bet, and the Yamam counterterrorism unit announced in a joint statement that they killed three individuals, including Qais Bitawi, in a drone strike near Jenin. According to the military, Bitawi was responsible for local Hamas activity in the Jenin refugee camp and maintained contact with Hamas officials in the Gaza Strip and abroad. The IDF reported that a firearm was recovered from the vehicle used by the group. The strike was carried out with a single missile while the men were standing near a building under construction. Palestinian reports indicated that Israeli forces later entered Jenin and surrounded several homes in the city center. This marks the first Israeli airstrike in the West Bank in approximately 10 months. Meanwhile, the IDF has announced heightened military readiness in the West Bank due to rising tensions and the approaching holiday period. The Chief of Staff has ordered an additional division headquarters to be placed on high alert to reinforce forces in the region.
