Hamas commanders killed in Israeli airstrikes across Gaza Strip

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency announced they have targeted several Hamas commanders in recent operations across the Gaza Strip. According to the IDF, a platoon commander in Hamas' military wing who participated in the October 7 infiltration into Israel was targeted in the Nuseirat refugee camp area. In a separate operation in the Daraj Tuffah neighborhood, the military stated it struck a Hamas commander and accompanying operatives who were allegedly planning attacks against Israeli forces. The Palestinian Interior Ministry in Gaza reported casualties following an airstrike on the municipal police headquarters in Gaza City. Local reports indicate at least six people were killed on Wednesday afternoon in strikes targeting a motorcycle and a police post, including a female police officer. On Tuesday, the IDF also targeted Hamas Nukhba force commanders in the Shati area near Gaza Port. Palestinian sources reported that seven people were killed and 14 wounded in that strike. The IDF stated that measures were taken to mitigate harm to uninvolved civilians prior to the strikes.
