Meghan’s father Thomas Markle under house arrest after child sex abuse material charge
According to the BBC, 82-year-old Thomas Markle has been placed under house detention in Florida after the FBI seized approximately 78 items, including film negatives, slides, and books allegedly containing child sex abuse material, from storage units he rented in Los Angeles. The US Department of Justice stated that Markle faces one count of possessing indecent images of children. During a court hearing on Friday, he was ordered to submit to electronic monitoring while under house arrest at his assisted living facility. FBI Director Kash Patel stated that authorities moved quickly to address the allegations. Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, who has been estranged from her father since 2018, previously expressed deep distress regarding the emerging allegations.
