De Miguel passed away due to injuries sustained during a collision with FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesus Owono in a match on Monday. Fans have gathered at the Heliodoro Rodriguez Lopez Stadium to pay their respects with flowers and candles. Poli Suarez, the Canary Islands' minister for sport, expressed condolences to De Miguel's family and described him as a figure who became part of the island's sporting history. A further tribute is planned for Saturday.
