IDF soldier recites Kaddish where his father was killed in Lebanon

Yehuda Moyal, a 21-year-old IDF soldier, returned to the site in southern Lebanon where his father, Warrant Officer Shaul Moyal, was killed in combat nearly two years ago to recite the Kaddish, the Jewish mourner’s prayer. Shaul Moyal, a father of 10 and a combat operative in the IDF’s 8207th Battalion, died in October 2024. Yehuda, who is currently serving in the Netzah Yehuda Battalion, stated that he consulted his mother before entering Lebanon, and she encouraged him to complete the mission his father had left behind. In an interview with Yedioth Ahronoth, Yehuda described the visit as a way to find closure and honor his father's sacrifice. Reflecting on the current state of the area, he noted that the landscape has changed significantly since the original clash, with former militant infrastructure now cleared. He emphasized that despite the loss, his family continues to move forward and grow.
